"I needed a warm place to stay for an hour whilst car was in Mack’s Autos. Met a mate outside the cafe by chance. He also had his car in for a service. Breakfast was spot on the mark. "⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fantastic!! Sonley’s Café, run by the lovely husband-and-wife team James and Harriet, has been a wonderful addition to English Street. Before they opened, James reached out about some urgent roofing issues due to leaks. Robert, our local roofer, kindly fitted the job in on a Saturday so it didn’t disrupt our work. As a thank-you, James and Harriet promised breakfast once the café opened—and today we finally got to try it! We had the regular breakfast (I swapped a hash brown for black pudding), and it was absolutely delicious. Proper Lurpak butter, real HP Brown Sauce, Heinz ketchup for Robert, and a great cup of Yorkshire tea made it perfect. The décor has lovely local touches and a warm, welcoming feel. Highly recommend visiting, whether you’re nearby or fancy a little drive out. Open Monday–Saturday, 7:30am–1pm."

"After a heavy night, savouring the delights of hull's old town pubs with my son and a few males of my family, this morning we both needed a proper breakfast or, at least, something to settle our rumbling tums and sore heeds. We came across a chalked sign that just said "CAFE OPEN!" - Spot on! It's a small place but despite the downstairs having being taken over by 12 (hungry) Full English Breakfast Critics we trundled upstairs and were accommodated at a small table. The lady explained that our order would be 15 to 20 minutes but we decided that we would wait and we're rewarded with drinks on the house. Bacon, egg, sausage and tomatoes sandwiches (doorsteps) or B.E.S.T , were devoured with much enthusiasm and it settled our abused tums. A great little place, food is top drawer, clean and welcoming premises and it is run by good people. Very, very reasonable prices too. I, for one will be revisiting Ms Sonleys eaterie, again. That's for sure!"

I tried their signature avocado toast with a poached egg, and it was hands-down the best I’ve ever had—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Their coffee is exceptional, with rich, aromatic blends that pair perfectly with their freshly baked pastries. The chocolate croissant was a standout, flaky and indulgent!"
